Overview
- Services and parades are scheduled nationwide on Sunday, November 9, with additional Armistice Day observances on Tuesday, November 11.
- Sunderland’s parade will step off at 10:35am led by 3rd Battalion The Rifles, with field guns marking the 11am silence, road closures in place, two public screens, a disabled viewing platform, a livestream, and city landmarks lit red from November 9–11.
- Newcastle will form up on Blackett Street at 10:45am before a service at Old Eldon Square led by the Bishop of Newcastle, with a gun signal for the 11am silence and short city-centre road closures.
- BCP Council confirmed timings and closures for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, including a 10:55am service at Bournemouth’s Cenotaph, Christchurch’s procession to the Priory, and Poole Park’s vehicle closure from 7am to 1pm.
- Detailed local programmes across Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Herefordshire, Mid Wales, Devon, Shropshire and Banbury set out parade routes, church services, two-minute silences, wreath-laying, accessibility measures and community fundraising events.
