UK to Require Electronic Travel Authorization for Visitors Starting April 2025

The new system applies to most non-UK and non-Irish travelers, with applications opening on March 5 for a fee of £10.

The UK will implement an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system for most non-UK and non-Irish travelers beginning April 2, 2025.
The ETA, which costs £10 (approximately €12), can be applied for online or via the UK ETA app starting March 5, 2025.
Travelers must provide a valid biometric passport, a recent digital photo, an email address, and an electronic payment method to apply.
The authorization is valid for two years or until the associated passport expires and allows multiple stays of up to six months each.
Exceptions to the ETA requirement include school groups of minors under 18, who will continue to follow existing travel protocols.
