Overview
- The DWP’s annual uprating, which took effect Monday, lifts the full New State Pension to £241.30 a week and sets the Basic State Pension at £184.90.
- People on the older Basic scheme can receive up to £9,614.80 this year, leaving a gap of about £2,932 compared with the £12,547.60 available on the full New State Pension.
- The full New State Pension now totals £12,547 a year, only £36 under the £12,570 Personal Allowance that the Autumn Budget froze until 2031, so many with other taxable income could face income tax.
- Pension Credit rises 4.8% to a minimum of £238 a week, worth up to £566.80 more a year and opening access to extra help such as housing support, council tax reductions and free TV licences.
- Extra support also increases, including a £69.98-a-week carer top-up to Pension Credit and a £5.05 weekly rise to the Over‑80 Pension, with the Over‑80 threshold lifted to £110.75.
