UK Recalls Six Tower Air Fryer Models Over Fire Risk

Owners of six defective Tower air fryer models must stop using the units, unplug them, submit online claims for refunds or replacements.

Overview

  • Regulators determined the models can overheat, ignite during use and fail to comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
  • Affected models—T17023, T17061BLK, T17067, T17087, T17129L and T17129 Tower Vortx 8L—were manufactured between January 2022 and April 2023.
  • Products were sold through major UK retailers including Argos, B&M, DID, Lidl, Poundland, Robert Dyas, Tesco and via Tower Housewares’ website.
  • Tower Housewares launched a voluntary recall process offering straightforward refunds or replacements through its dedicated online portal.
  • This action forms part of heightened enforcement under the 2016 regulations following similar small-appliance recalls across Europe.
