• UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the first British-Indian to hold the position, celebrated Diwali with his family at 10 Downing Street and in his home city of Southampton.
• Sunak and his family lit diyas outside 10 Downing Street and later joined the ceremony of Aarti at the Vedic Society Hindu Temple in Southampton.
• Sunak's wife, Akshata Murty, paid tribute to her Kannada heritage by wearing a royal blue Mysuru silk saree and a traditional gandaberunda necklace, the state emblem of Karnataka.
• External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his wife Kyoko celebrated Diwali with the Sunaks at 10 Downing Street, gifting them a cricket bat signed by Virat Kohli.
• The Sunak family's Diwali celebrations attracted attention from Hindus in the south of England, including from areas such as Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
