Overview

• Events across Cleethorpes, Redcar, Scarborough and Liverpool will mark Armed Forces Day with military parades, air shows and static displays
• Cleethorpes will host a veteran-led motorcycle and military vehicle procession at 11 am followed by a 700-strong march led by the Coldstream Guards at 11:30 am
• Scarborough’s programme features a replica naval battle in Peasholm Park, public tours of the Nao Victoria and air displays from Eurofighter Typhoons to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
• In Merseyside, parades will proceed from Liverpool Parish Church to the Pier Head, landmark buildings will be lit red, white and blue and a rock concert will be held at Adventure Coast Southport
• Road closures, travel guidance and a forecast high of 24 °C are expected to help manage crowds projected to exceed 300,000
