- The OnePoll survey of 2,000 UK adults, published Thursday, found one in four were unsure they could tell a robin from a red kite.
- Respondents most often missed familiar species such as barn owl, pheasant, blue tit, kestrel, starling and heron.
- Thirty-four percent said being flooded with digital content weakened their knowledge of nature, and 21% said they were more likely to see birds on screens than outdoors.
- More than half said screen time cuts into fresh air and exercise at 53%, while 32% said it harms their sleep.
