UK Police Unity Tour Kicks Off with Memorial Rides to National Arboretum

Chapters start their rides today in tribute to officers who died on duty with proceeds benefiting families supported by the Care of Police Survivors charity.

Overview

  • Hampshire and Isle of Wight officers set off from Netley on July 31 to cycle 300 miles ending at the National Memorial Arboretum on August 3.
  • Durham Constabulary’s two riders began a 250-mile, four-day leg on July 31 that will conclude with a commemorative service at the arboretum on August 2.
  • North Yorkshire Police are preparing to launch their 180-mile, three-day tour from Fulford Police Station on August 1.
  • Each participant dedicates their miles to a specific fallen officer, raising visibility through a 50-mile awareness ride on the Isle of Wight completed July 30.
  • Proceeds from the tour support the Care of Police Survivors charity, which last year received £228,000 in donations from Unity Tour fundraisers.
