Overview

  • The M11 has been shut in both directions between Junction 8 and Junction 7A since an overturned lorry near Stansted Airport on June 16, with traffic expected to remain disrupted into the early hours.
  • On June 17 a car fire northbound on the M11 between J7 and J7A led to the closure of two lanes and further delays for motorists.
  • National Highways confirmed the A38 southbound in Derbyshire remains fully closed between Coxbench and Little Eaton Island following a serious collision on June 16, with a designated diversion via the B6179 and A61 in operation.
  • A multi-vehicle crash on the M25 anti-clockwise near Junction 5 for the M26 caused lane closures and queues of up to 40 minutes before all lanes reopened after Kent Police reported no serious injuries.
  • Earlier on June 16, separate collisions disrupted traffic on both directions of the M18 and brought the M5 southbound at Junction 14 to a standstill, highlighting pressure on emergency and highway services.
