UK Issues Fresh Recalls at Sainsbury's, Morrisons and TK Maxx Over Toxic Seeds and Undeclared Allergens

The FSA urges shoppers to verify batch codes, avoid consumption, then return affected items for refunds.

Overview

  • Sainsbury's has withdrawn the Habitat Seed Pod Bowl Filler after warning the seeds inside may be toxic to people and pets, with the outer casing safe to touch but the item failing General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
  • Customers are told not to compost the Habitat product and to return it in a bag for a full refund; the item is listed as product code 146383921.
  • TJX Europe has recalled Les Florentins chocolat biscuits sold at TK Maxx and Homesense because gluten is not declared on the label, posing a risk to those with allergies or intolerances.
  • Affected Les Florentins variants include Caramel Chocolat Lait, Citron Chocolat Noir, Fruits Rouges Chocolat Noir, Menthe Chocolat Noir, Orange Chocolat Noir and Orange Chocolat Lait, with best‑before dates in June–July 2026 and specified batch numbers on the FSA notice.
  • The Jolly Hog is recalling Leek Porkers 6 British Sausages (400g, use by 28 September 2025) for undeclared milk, affecting products sold at Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Morrisons only.
