UK Imposes Sanctions on Russian LNG Tankers and Companies

Britain leverages new legal powers to target vessels and entities involved in Russian liquefied natural gas shipping.

The UK has sanctioned five LNG tankers and two companies involved in the Russian LNG sector for the first time.
The sanctioned ships include Asya Energy, Pioneer, North Sky, SCF La Perouse, and Nova Energy.
The targeted companies are White Fox Ship Management and Ocean Speedstar Solutions OPC.
This move follows earlier sanctions on Arctic LNG 2 and 10 other ships in Russia's 'shadow fleet' aimed at circumventing Western restrictions.
The UK's actions come as Russia seeks to increase its global LNG market share from 8% to 20% amidst declining natural resource exports.
