UK Government Announces $73 Million Investment in Creative Industries

The funding targets regional growth, job creation, and global cultural influence through film, music, gaming, and soft power initiatives.

The UK government unveiled a £60 million ($73 million) funding package to boost creative industries, announced at the Creative Industries Growth Summit in Gateshead.
Key allocations include $8.5 million for the UK Global Screen Fund, $6.7 million for the UK Games Fund, and $19.8 million for the Create Growth Program, among others.
The funding aims to support creative enterprises outside London, grassroots music venues, and regional cultural projects, with 11 priority regions identified for development.
A newly launched Soft Power Council will harness British cultural exports to strengthen global influence and attract international investment.
The initiative is part of the Labour government’s broader economic growth strategy, with additional policy announcements expected in the coming months.
