Overview
- A military procession featuring over 1,300 Armed Forces members will march from Parliament Square to Buckingham Palace on May 5, led by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery.
- The procession will conclude with a 23-aircraft flypast over The Mall, including displays by the Red Arrows, Typhoon and F-35 jets, and historic planes from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
- On May 8, Westminster Abbey will host a commemorative service followed by a concert at Horse Guards Parade, attended by veterans and dignitaries.
- Communities across the UK, including Cumbria and Torbay, are organizing talks, parades, tea parties, and regional events to honor veterans and celebrate the occasion.
- Nationwide street parties and other local festivities are being encouraged as part of the Great British Food Festival, coordinated by the Together Coalition and the Big Lunch.
