Overview

  • Old Bailey fixed the trial for Lewie Chiaramello, Jony Cink, Amy Gardiner-Gibson and Daniel Jeronymides-Norie to begin on January 18, 2027, with a judicial review set for January 16, 2026 to consider an earlier date.
  • The four face conspiracy charges for entering RAF Brize Norton illegally and committing criminal damage after spraying two Voyager refuelling planes with red paint, causing about £7 million in damage.
  • Prosecutors have placed the case on the terrorism list, arguing the Brize Norton protest has a “terrorist connection” under the Terrorism Act.
  • Following a 385–26 Commons vote to proscribe Palestine Action, civil liberties advocates have launched a High Court challenge warning the ban risks undermining the right to protest.
  • Separately, five activists were charged this week with aggravated burglary, criminal damage and violent disorder over a break-in at Elbit Systems UK in August 2024.
