Overview

  • Established at the request of Sir Chris Bryant MP, the council operates under the Creative Industries Sector Plan’s framework for industry collaboration
  • Co-chairs Jason Kingsley CBE and Nick Button-Brown lead 12 other members drawn from studios, publishers, technology firms and trade bodies
  • Appointees will serve initial terms of up to three years to help shape policies for sector growth
  • Trade bodies Ukie and TIGA will administer the council’s operations to streamline engagement between government and industry
  • The initiative complements a £30 million Games Growth Package aimed at boosting innovation and global competitiveness in a sector that generates over $100 billion annually
