Overview
- Over 12 million pensioners will get the triple lock increase, worth up to £575 a year for those on the full New State Pension.
- Weekly rates are set at £241.30 for the New State Pension and £184.90 for the Basic State Pension from April 2026.
- Pension Credit’s Standard Minimum Guarantee will rise to £238 a week for single people and £363.25 for couples, with hundreds of thousands still eligible but not claiming.
- Around 453,000 UK pensioners living in countries such as Canada and Australia will not receive any uprating under the frozen pensions policy.
- The government also plans an average £150 cut to household energy bills from April 2026 and a wider Warm Home Discount for about 2.7 million additional households.
