UK Bars Israeli Officials From DSEI as Israel Pulls National Pavilion

London casts the restriction as leverage over Gaza within a wider pressure campaign.

Overview

  • Britain confirmed no Israeli government or military delegation will be invited to DSEI UK 2025, citing Israel’s escalation in Gaza and calling for a ceasefire, hostage releases and more humanitarian aid.
  • Israel’s Ministry of Defense condemned the move as discriminatory, said it will withdraw from the exhibition and will not run a national pavilion, and pledged support to Israeli firms that still attend.
  • Private Israeli defense companies, including Elbit Systems, Rafael, IAI and Uvision, remain permitted to exhibit at the Sept. 9–12 show at London’s ExCeL, which is organized by Clarion with UK government backing.
  • UK officials signaled the ban on official delegations could be reversed if Israel demonstrates compliance with international humanitarian law and takes steps to ease the humanitarian crisis.
  • The decision expands UK pressure that has included suspending some export licenses, freezing trade talks and sanctioning two ministers, and it follows European precedents such as France’s limits on Israeli displays at the Paris Air Show; protests are planned around the expo.
