UK Bars Israeli Government From DSEI London Over Gaza Escalation

British officials say the restriction could be lifted if Israel demonstrates respect for international humanitarian law.

Overview

  • Britain’s Ministry of Defence confirmed no Israeli government or military delegation will be invited to DSEI UK 2025, scheduled for September 9–12 at London’s ExCeL Centre.
  • Israel’s defence ministry condemned the move as discriminatory, said it will withdraw its national pavilion, and pledged support for Israeli companies that still attend.
  • Private Israeli firms, including Elbit Systems, Rafael, Israel Aerospace Industries and Uvision, remain eligible to exhibit at the biennial defence trade show.
  • The UK framed the step as a response to Israel’s escalation in Gaza, urging an immediate ceasefire, the return of hostages and a surge in humanitarian aid.
  • The measure follows suspended UK export licences, frozen trade talks and sanctions on Israeli ministers, and echoes French actions at June’s Paris Air Show.
