Overview
- The UK Government and Department for Transport have confirmed £1.75 billion of capital funding to advance the Midlands Rail Hub project.

- Design work will concentrate on two new chords to connect Bordesley with Moor Street from the south-west/Wales corridor and the East Midlands.
- Preparatory phases are under way for more than ten engineering interventions, including platform expansions at Moor Street and Snow Hill, viaduct widening and station upgrades.
