UK Allocates £75 Million to Combat People Smuggling

New Border Security Command to deploy officers in Austria and Romania, enhance technology, and boost law enforcement capabilities.

British crime fighters will be sent to Austria and Romania to target people-smuggling gangs transporting migrants through Europe.
The £75 million funding will establish the Border Security Command, coordinating efforts from the NCA, MI5, Border Force, and CPS.
State-of-the-art surveillance and intelligence technology will be implemented to improve evidence quality and speed up investigations.
The funding will also increase the number of specialist investigators in the NCA by 25%, adding 100 new officers.
The initiative redirects funds from the scrapped Rwanda scheme and aims to disrupt smuggling networks internationally and in the UK.
