Overview

  • Users will be able to share full or masked Aadhaar details digitally via mobile-to-mobile or app-to-app QR code transfers with their consent.
  • Most personal updates—including name, address, date of birth and mobile number changes—can be completed online without visiting an Aadhaar centre.
  • From November 2025, a new protocol will draw on data from birth certificates, driving licences, passports, PAN cards and other databases to automate information updates.
  • UIDAI is negotiating access to electricity bill records and partnering with hotels, security agencies and state sub-registrars to broaden Aadhaar verification.
  • A special biometric update drive for children aged five to seven and 15 to 17 aims to close record gaps using the new digital process.
