Overview

  • UGT says the suspension is provisional and the strike remains called, with potential walkouts revived on August 30–31 if no deal is signed.
  • Menzies’ operations at around twenty Spanish airports were set to be affected, covering carriers such as Emirates, British Airways, American Airlines and Turkish Airlines.
  • Union negotiator José Manuel Peces cautioned that only a written accord on issues like days off, hours, rotations and vacations will end the action.
  • Reporting to date cites no delays or cancellations directly attributed to the Menzies stoppages.
  • The separate strike at Azul Handling, Ryanair’s baggage unit, continues under its existing schedule and is not covered by the Menzies pre-agreement.
