UFC’s Mohammed Usman Accepts 30-Month Suspension for Testosterone Violation

Deceptive conduct plus use of multiple prohibited substances extended the standard two-year ban to 30 months, leaving him ineligible until April 9, 2028.

Overview

  • An out-of-competition sample collected Sept. 8, 2025, in Coral Springs tested positive for testosterone, leading to Usman’s removal from his scheduled UFC Rio bout with Valter Walker.
  • CSAD said Usman initially gave a false explanation, then admitted using testosterone before the event as well as the banned peptide BPC-157 earlier in 2025.
  • Aggravating factors triggered a six-month increase to the standard two-year sanction, with the suspension backdated to Oct. 9, 2025, and ending on April 9, 2028.
  • CSAD administers the UFC’s anti-doping program, with Drug Free Sport International handling sample collection and WADA-accredited SMRTL conducting laboratory analysis.
  • Usman has issued a public statement taking full responsibility for the violation and saying he intends to move forward by following the rules.
