UEFA Warns England of Potential Ban Over Government's Football Regulator Plans

UEFA's general secretary, Theodore Theodoridis, emphasized that football regulation should be managed by the national federation without government interference.
The potential sanction for perceived government interference could be the exclusion of English teams from UEFA competitions, including Euro 2028.
The UK government maintains that the IFR will be independent and aims to ensure financial sustainability and better governance in English football.
Football Supporters’ Association and other groups believe there is no real risk of England being banned, viewing UEFA’s letter as a precautionary measure.
