Overview
- Euro 2028 runs June 9 to July 9 with 24 teams playing 51 matches across nine venues in England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
- Host nations will take part in qualifying, two spots are reserved as a safety net, and any that qualify directly will play group games on home soil.
- If England qualify, they open at Manchester City’s Etihad before two group matches at Wembley, then a last-16 tie at Newcastle if they win their group or at Everton’s new stadium if they finish second.
- Cardiff hosts the opening match and a quarter-final, Dublin and Glasgow also stage quarter-finals, round-of-16 ties are at all venues except Wembley, and the final kicks off at 5 p.m. local.
- Northern Ireland lost host status after Casement Park funding failed, Belfast will host the qualifying draw on Dec. 6, 2026, and governments have pledged up to £740 million toward staging with £3.6 billion in projected benefits.
