UEFA Clears Manchester Clubs for European Competitions with Transfer Restrictions

Manchester United and Manchester City can compete in Europe but face bans on player transfers with their sister clubs until September 2025.

UEFA has allowed Manchester United and Manchester City to participate in the Europa League and Champions League, respectively.
Both clubs had to implement significant changes in ownership and governance to comply with UEFA's multi-club ownership rules.
Manchester United cannot sign players from Nice, and Manchester City cannot sign players from Girona until September 2025.
The restrictions include both permanent and loan transfers, except for pre-existing agreements.
The changes were accepted by UEFA's Club Financial Control Body on an exceptional basis for the 2024/25 season.
