Udinese Back Runjaic After Sixth Straight Defeat

Club sources say there is no deadline on the coach’s job and informal checks on replacements mean his future will depend on immediate results.

Overview

The 2-0 home loss to AC Milan on Sunday extended Udinese’s losing run to six Serie A games and left the team on four points in 17th place.
ANSA-reported club sources told outlets on Monday that the board publicly retains confidence in Kosta Runjaic and has set no time limit on his tenure.
Club officials have privately made informal approaches about possible replacements but have not opened any formal negotiations.
Owner Gino Pozzo prefers to keep Runjaic until his contract ends in June rather than make a mid-season change, yet he wants immediate results to avoid danger.
Udinese now face away games at Parma followed by a home match versus Roma that the club describes as decisive for survival and for Runjaic’s short-term future.
