UCLA’s Nico Iamaleava Leaves Game After Helmet Hit vs. Washington

No diagnosis was announced after an evaluation that follows a recent concussion absence.

He exited in the third quarter at the Rose Bowl with UCLA down 27-0, and Washington went on to win 48-14.
He was sacked, took a hit to the helmet, stayed on the turf as trainers attended to him, then went to the medical tent and the locker room.
Interim coach Tim Skipper said the staff was not completely sure whether he suffered another concussion and that further evaluation was needed.
Backup Luke Duncan finished the game and previously started against Ohio State when Iamaleava was out with a concussion sustained versus Nebraska.
Broadcast footage showed Iamaleava heading to the locker room without his jersey and a towel over his head.
