UCF Players Opt for Redshirt and Transfer Portal Entry

Five UCF football players, including starter Xavier Townsend, plan to redshirt and transfer after four games.

UCF confirmed that wide receiver Xavier Townsend and four other players will redshirt and enter the transfer portal.
Townsend, the only starter in the group, has recorded 10 catches for 69 yards and a touchdown this season.
The players' decision comes after UCF's recent loss to Colorado and ahead of their game against Florida.
Kicker Colton Boomer is out with an undisclosed injury, with Grant Reddick stepping in as his replacement.
Under NCAA rules, the players can join new teams for bowl practices but won't be eligible to play until 2025.
