UC3 Launches 2027–33 Rights Tender With Global First-Pick Champions League Match

The redesign targets at least €5 billion a year by courting global streamers.

Overview

  • UC3 said the first tender for Uefa’s club competitions will open on 13 October for the 2027–33 cycle.
  • A proposed package would let a single provider stream one game per matchweek worldwide with first pick from that round.
  • Rights for the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain will be offered simultaneously, enabling one buyer to bid across all five markets.
  • Netflix has been sounded out about the global first-pick option, according to reports, while Amazon currently shows one match per round in several countries.
  • Relevent Sports is running the sale, with bids expected to target a lift to about €5bn annually and contract lengths under consideration between three and six years.
