Ubisoft's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Heavily Discounted Shortly After Release

Despite positive user scores, the game's physical copies are being sold at significant discounts, while digital editions maintain the original price.

Ubisoft's first $70 game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, has been heavily discounted less than two weeks after its release.
The game is available for $49.99 at retailers including Amazon, Target and Best Buy in the US, and for under £45 at Game and Currys in the UK.
Despite the discount, digital editions in console and PC stores are still priced at $70.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has received higher user scores than any recent Far Cry or Assassin’s Creed games, but sales are speculated to be low.
Ubisoft has plans to release two “story packs” as part of an Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora season pass, which is included with the game’s Gold ($110 / £95) and Ultimate ($130 / £115) editions.
