Ubisoft Ships Final Major Patch for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

The patch delivers long‑requested New Game+ plus a brutal Nightmare difficulty, ending the remake’s run of large content drops and moving future work to quality‑of‑life fixes.

Overview

  • Patch 1.0.8 went live on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on Tuesday and adds New Game+ that preserves most player progression while resetting story progress and map capture states.
  • New Game+ introduces a dedicated NG+ currency called Escudos, supports up to five successive replay cycles with escalating difficulty, and lets players buy exclusive outfits and items.
  • The update adds a Nightmare difficulty that raises enemy damage and reaction speed, tightens parry windows, removes the one‑shot safety that prevented instant deaths, and makes stealth and naval combat more punishing.
  • Developers also added hidden community chests, throwback takedown animations, new cosmetics and a broad set of bug fixes and stability improvements across gameplay, UI and quests.
  • Ubisoft describes 1.0.8 as the remake’s final major content update and will present a Fall 2026 franchise progress update on October 29 that the company says will provide status notes without major new game reveals.
