Ubisoft Schedules Fall Assassin's Creed Update After Black Flag Patch

The briefing will summarize progress on current projects rather than introduce major new games or reveals.

Overview

  • Ubisoft will release a Black Flag Resynced patch on Tuesday, Oct. 27 that adds a New Game+ mode, a Nightmare difficulty that raises enemy damage and removes one-shot safety, new community chests, takedowns and cosmetics.
  • The publisher will host a Fall 2026 franchise update on Thursday, Oct. 29 with head of content Jean Guesdon speaking, and Ubisoft has said the stream will not include any major reveals.
  • Known entries remain in development but uncertain: Assassin’s Creed codename Hexe is reported as a darker, witch-focused project that has been tentatively targeted for mid-2027 with possible slippage to holiday 2027, and codename Invictus is a multiplayer project that reporting says has attracted negative word-of-mouth and faces cancellation risk.
  • Black Flag Resynced has sold more than 3.5 million units, a commercial outcome Ubisoft has previously said could justify more remakes and increased post-launch support for the franchise.
  • The update may also touch on non-game efforts such as the Netflix series now in production in Rome, and the company’s cautious, informational tone reflects both active development and persistent uncertainty about timelines and the fate of multiplayer projects.
