Ubisoft Rebrands Creative House 2 as Massive Entertainment

The change puts Christoph Hartmann in charge of a single label that will centralize development of key Tom Clancy franchises and new IP to sharpen creative and technical work.

Overview

  • Ubisoft said the unit formerly called Creative House 2 will operate under the Massive Entertainment label, bringing together teams in Montréal, Paris, Sweden and Toronto under general manager Christoph Hartmann.
  • The label will be responsible for Tom Clancy franchises including The Division, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell, and for new original IP such as March of Giants that Ubisoft acquired from Amazon.
  • Effective Wednesday, Sept. 30, the named studios and teams will adopt the Massive identity while Ubisoft confirmed it will continue to publish and distribute the games and that there is no change to player or partner commitments.
  • Hartmann said the consolidation aims to combine creative energy and technical expertise to shape future entries and new projects, while the move follows Ubisoft’s broader restructuring that included layoffs and announced cost-reduction targets for 2026.
  • The new label builds on the history of the Sweden-based Massive studio, known for The Division and the Snowdrop engine, and the shift could speed cross-studio tech sharing and brand continuity but may also concentrate roles and responsibilities for developers and managers.
