Ubisoft, the French video game publisher, has blamed a 'technical error' for the appearance of pop-up ads in several of its Assassin's Creed titles.
The ads, which appeared during gameplay, promoted the company's latest Assassin's Creed: Mirage's Black Friday sale.
Players reported encountering the ads when trying to access the map screen in games such as Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Assassin's Creed: Origins and Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.
Ubisoft has not provided a detailed explanation for the technical error, but has stated that the issue has been addressed.
This is not the first time that Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has experienced such an issue, with a similar incident reported in 2019.
