Uber to Launch WeRide Robotaxis in Abu Dhabi

The partnership between Uber and China's WeRide will introduce autonomous vehicles to the UAE later this year.

Uber and WeRide will debut their robotaxi service in Abu Dhabi, marking the first collaboration between the two companies.
WeRide holds the UAE’s only national license for autonomous vehicles, granted in 2023.
The partnership is part of Uber’s broader strategy to integrate more self-driving cars into its platform.
Uber has also expanded partnerships with other autonomous vehicle companies like Waymo and Cruise in the U.S.
Due to new trade restrictions, the Uber-WeRide partnership will not extend to the U.S. or China.
