Uber Taps Lucid and Nuro for 20,000-Strong Electric Robotaxi Fleet

The companies will integrate Nuro’s Level 4 autonomous system into Lucid’s Gravity SUVs for exclusive deployment on Uber’s app starting late 2026.

Overview

  • Uber will invest $300 million in Lucid and hundreds of millions more in Nuro, securing a seat on Nuro’s board under the partnership.
  • The rideshare giant has committed to acquire and deploy at least 20,000 Lucid Gravity SUVs equipped with Nuro’s Level 4 autonomous driving system between 2026 and 2032.
