Uber Brings ONDC QR Metro Tickets and Uber Direct Logistics to Bengaluru

Uber says the goal is convenience, with wider ONDC-based rollouts planned in 2026.

Overview

  • Namma Metro riders can now buy QR-based tickets in the Uber app with UPI payments and real-time information, enabled through ONDC.
  • Uber Direct launched in Bengaluru as a behind-the-scenes, plug-and-play logistics service for merchants, distinct from the consumer-facing Courier products.
  • At launch, Uber drivers are fulfilling grocery orders for Zepto and KPN Farm Fresh via ONDC’s open network.
  • Food deliveries are slated to join Uber Direct within weeks for brands including KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell and Rebel Foods.
  • BMRCL’s J. Ravishankar endorsed the multi-operator ONDC ticketing approach, while Uber framed the move as part of its multimodal platform expansion following earlier metro integrations in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
