• Omar Kalid Sánchez Salto, a 17-year-old from Preparatoria 17 of the Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero, was found dead Thursday midday in room 505 of a hotel on Ortiz street in the Icacos neighborhood of Acapulco, according to police.
• National Guard units along with state and ministerial police secured the scene, and the Servicio Médico Forense removed the body prior to formal identification.
• His family last had contact with him on September 24, reported his disappearance to the Guerrero state prosecutor’s office the next day, and an Alerta Amber was activated.
• University rector Javier Saldaña Almazán publicly demanded clarification of the killing and said the death was unrelated to the student’s academic activities.
• Relatives, as relayed by the rector, reported he was last seen with an adult and possibly abducted after going out to buy something, and authorities have announced no suspects or arrests.
