UAE Forecast: Showers, Strong Gusts and Dust Expected Through Sept. 7

The National Centre of Meteorology warns the short spell could worsen visibility, produce rough seas, increase nighttime fog risk.

Overview

  • The NCM says convective clouds will bring isolated to scattered showers and gusty winds across parts of the UAE over the coming days, with rainfall most likely in eastern and southern areas during afternoon and evening hours.
  • Winds are expected to freshen to 10–25 km/hr with gusts up to about 55 km/hr in some areas, which will stir dust and reduce visibility on roads and at work sites.
  • Marine conditions will be slight to moderate overall but may become rough at times in western parts of the Arabian Gulf and intermittently in the Oman Sea, creating hazards for small boats and coastal operations.
  • Very high daytime heat will persist alongside the unsettled weather — Mezaira recorded 47.4°C recently — and nights will turn humid with a chance of mist or fog that could affect morning travel.
  • The NCM also flagged a developing El Niño signal for the coming winter that could change seasonal rainfall and variability later in 2026, though that outlook does not alter the immediate multi-day forecast.
