UAE Forecast Predicts Multi‑Day Changeable Spell With Showers and Humidity

The National Centre of Meteorology says convective cloud development will drive variable wind and rainfall patterns across the country this week.

Overview

  • The NCM issued an advisory covering October 18–22 that warns of scattered afternoon showers across parts of the UAE as convective clouds develop.
  • Rain is expected to begin over eastern areas on Sunday then spread to inland and western emirates between Monday and Wednesday before shifting further west by Thursday.
  • Nights will turn more humid with a risk of morning fog or mist in some coastal and inland locations, a condition that can reduce visibility and disrupt early travel.
  • Winds are forecast generally light to moderate at 10–25 km/h, but the NCM and local outlets say gusts may strengthen during cloud activity with reports of peak gusts around 40–50 km/h and possible blowing dust.
  • The sea state should remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, recent highs included 41.6°C in Sweihan on Saturday, and forecast daytime peaks for Dubai and Abu Dhabi were reported between about 35°C and 37°C with small variations between outlets.
