Tyson Foods Recalls 30,000 Pounds of Dinosaur-Shaped Chicken Nuggets Due to Metal Contamination Reports
Recalled nuggets are labeled as “Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Patties”, were produced on September 5, 2023, and have led to one reported injury due to metal pieces found in the product.
- Tyson Foods is recalling nearly 30,000 pounds of its frozen, fully cooked dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets, commonly known as “Fun Nuggets” after consumers reported finding small metal pieces in the product.
- The nuggets were produced on September 5, 2023, and were shipped to distributors in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin for distribution to retailers.
- The specific product subject to recall is marked with a 'best if used by' date of September 4, 2024, and lot codes 2483BRV0207, 2483BRV0208, 2483BRV0209, and 2483BRV0210.
- One minor oral injury has been reported in connection with the consumption of these nuggets, but the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the USDA has not received any additional reports of injury or illness.
- Consumers who have purchased these nuggets are being warned not to consume them and they should either be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
