Typhoon Doksuri leaves 39 dead in Philippines before weakening over China

  • Typhoon Doksuri caused deadly flooding and landslides in the northern Philippines, resulting in at least 39 deaths.
  • The typhoon also capsized a ferry near Manila, killing 26 passengers.
  • Doksuri brought heavy winds and rain to parts of Taiwan before making landfall in China's Fujian province.
  • Over 400,000 people were evacuated in China and flights, trains and factories were suspended.
  • After hitting land, Doksuri was downgraded to a tropical storm as it continued inland, bringing rain to northern China.
