Steve Mensch, president and general manager of Tyler Perry Studios since 2016, was piloting a single-engine Vans RV-12 when it crashed in Homosassa, Florida, on Friday evening.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Highway 19 and Longfellow Street, with Mensch pronounced dead at the scene; he was the sole occupant of the aircraft.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash, which remains unclear at this time.
