Two-Year-Old Found Unresponsive in San Antonio Creek Dies After AMBER Alert

Police say surveillance shows Aryana walking alone and investigators are canvassing the neighborhood for more footage as the medical examiner reviews her cause and manner of death.

Overview

  • Relatives reported Aryana Trevino Martinez missing from the 4700 block of Allegheny Drive about 8 p.m. Sunday and a statewide AMBER Alert was issued that night.
  • Search teams of officers, volunteers and a helicopter searched the area and a neighbor, Uriel Ramirez, found Aryana unresponsive in an overgrown, water-filled creek roughly 500 yards from the home around midnight.
  • First responders performed CPR and transported her to a hospital where the Bexar County Medical Examiner pronounced her dead at about 12:10 a.m. Monday.
  • Investigators say neighborhood surveillance video shows the two-year-old walking alone down an alley toward the creek and officers are going door to door seeking additional footage to determine if anyone else was involved.
  • The case remains an active investigation with the AMBER Alert canceled and officials urging residents to share any security camera video while the medical examiner works to determine the cause and manner of death.
