Two-Year-Old Dies After Being Left in Car for Hours in Queensland

Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the toddler's death in Innisfail as temperatures reached over 30°C.

A two-year-old girl was found unresponsive in a car parked at a council car park in Innisfail, Far North Queensland, on Monday afternoon.
Authorities believe the toddler was left alone in the vehicle for several hours before being discovered around 1pm.
Temperatures in the area peaked above 30°C at the time, and paramedics were unable to revive the child, who was later pronounced dead at Innisfail Hospital.
Queensland police described the investigation as complex and ongoing, with a brief of evidence to be prepared for the coroner in due course.
The girl's parents, who were reportedly at work and attending to family matters, are cooperating with authorities, and support is being extended to them and the local community.
