Overview

  • A joint force of DRG, STF and ITBP units engaged in an anti-Naxal operation on June 25 in the Abujhmad area under Kohkameta limits, neutralising two senior women cadres.
  • Inspector General P Sundarraj identified the deceased as Seema (Rs 5 lakh bounty) and Linge alias Ranjhu (Rs 1 lakh), both from Sukma district.
  • Security personnel recovered an INSAS rifle, a .315 bore gun, explosive materials and Maoist literature from the encounter site.
  • On June 26, six Maoist cadres carrying bounties totalling Rs 10 lakh surrendered, citing ideological disillusionment and trust in the state’s rehabilitation policy.
  • Reinforcements remain deployed in Narayanpur forests as combing operations continue to dismantle surviving Maoist elements ahead of the March 2026 eradication target.
