Two Wanted in Najafgarh Witness Killing Caught After Gurugram Encounter

Police link the pair to the July killing of witness Neeraj Tehlan, a key figure in a prior Najafgarh salon double murder.

  • A joint Delhi Police Special Cell–Gurugram Crime Branch team intercepted the suspects near Dhankot around 4:30 am.
  • The duo, identified as Mohit Jakhad, 29, and Jatin Rajput, 21, were apprehended after an exchange of fire in which both were shot in the legs.
  • Police say the suspects fired six rounds and officers returned seven, with Sub-Inspector Vikas injured in the left arm and Head Constable Narpat saved by his bulletproof vest.
  • Two pistols, a stolen motorcycle, and live and empty cartridges were recovered at the scene, and the injured were taken to Gurugram’s Sector-10 civil hospital.
  • Both men carried ₹50,000 rewards on their arrest, an FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for attempted murder has been registered, and questioning will follow their medical discharge.
