Two Vans Carrying 26 Chinese Migrants Intercepted in Florida

Authorities detained two alleged smugglers and launched an investigation into a suspected human smuggling operation in Coral Gables.

Coral Gables police stopped two vans transporting 26 Chinese migrants, including 17 men and 9 women, early Tuesday morning.
The migrants are believed to have arrived by boat in a secluded area near a canal leading to a private marina.
Two male smugglers, identified as a Cuban and a Puerto Rican, were detained, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and Customs and Border Patrol have taken over the investigation, with assistance from local and state agencies.
This incident follows a similar case earlier in January involving over 30 migrants in the same area, raising concerns about ongoing smuggling operations.
