Two UK Streets Named £1,000 Winners in Postcode Lottery

The operator continues daily £1,000 postcode draws after an April rebrand, with winners told how to claim and coverage highlighting its charity funding.

Overview

  • Residents with tickets registered to LA23 2EU (Meadow Road, Bowness-on-Windermere) and WR3 7NB (parts of Old Northwick Lane, Northwick) were named as winners and each valid ticket in those postcodes is worth £1,000.
  • The Postcode Lottery selects postcodes at random and pays every valid ticket in a winning postcode the stated prize, so all registered players on a winning street receive the payment.
  • Winners are advised to register bank details so payments reach accounts within 28 days and to call the operator’s freephone if they have not supplied banking information.
  • The operator rebranded from People’s Postcode Lottery in April but kept its format of 20 daily £1,000 postcode draws alongside weekly and monthly larger prizes.
  • The lottery says it gives at least 30% of ticket sales to charities and names groups such as Maggie’s, Alzheimer’s Society, Dogs Trust, Mind and NSPCC, but published coverage cites differing cumulative totals raised (for example £1.5bn and £1.7bn).
